Shockwave spent the October 4-5 weekend in Elgin, Illinois and faced all sorts of challenges from playing in 38 degree weather (and icy rain for most of Saturday) to some of the girls having to play while ill because we were missing part of the team. What dedication! They did their best, but were eliminated this morning in round one. The team donned pink socks and bows (and we spied pink laces on a pair of cleats as well) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Big thanks to Lauren O. for supplying the socks (Lauren’s pet charity for this softball season is theLynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation). Great job this weekend, Shockwave!!
